The GPC® 883 belongs to the CPUs 3 type size, and it is a very powerful control module capable of operating in stand alone mode or as an intelligent peripheral or remoted, in a wider telecontrol and/or aquisition network.

The GPC® 883 can be enclosed in a plastic container for a direct mounting on Omega Rils DIN 46277-1 and DIN 46277-3, thereby dispensing with the need of Rack and allowing a cheaper installation in the electrical control panel. Furthermore the card can be inserted into the same plastic rails that contains the expansion peripheral boards, obtaing in this way a single BLOCK element.

The GPC® 883 is based on the powerful and famous CPU 80C188ES AMD, code compatible with any PC, and it includes considerable hardware resources. The most interesting ones are the 8 lines of 12 bits high performances A/D Converter, the numerous TTL digital I/O lines and the CAN line. Its modularity and the remarkable hardware resources allow the GPC® 883 to easily solve even complex applications.

The card use is simplified by a wide range of software developement tools based on high level languages which allow to work at the best conditions using a standard PC. Noteworthy among these tools is the operating system GDOS 188 in conjunction with an efficient PASCAL romated compiler and the tools that allow to Romate the code compiled with standard Borland C Compiler.

Special care has been devoted to the application developing, by generating programs which allow remote symbolic debugger directly on the card and on board FLASH burning with user application program.

The GPC®883 is equipped with a series of standard Abaco® connectors allowing immediate use of all the available BLOCK I/O modules, or a direct management of local operator interfaces (KDx x24, QTP xxP) obtaining a notable cost reduction.

The Abaco® I/O BUS connector allows to drive directly the ZBR xxx and ZBT xxx cards and through ABB 03, ABB 05 and so on, it is possible to run all peripheral cards available on Abaco® BUS.

• - Intelligent Abaco® BLOCK module, 3 Type, 100x150 mm size.
• - Optional plastic container for mounting on DIN 46277-1 and DIN 46277-3 rails.
• - 26 or 40 MHz 80C188ES CPU; 512K EPROM or FLASH and 512K SRAM.
• - Serial EEPROM up to 8K.
• - 1 software readable 8 ways dip switch, and jumper for RUN/DEBUG mode selection.
• - 2 serial lines in RS232, one configurable in RS422, RS485, passive Current Loop with programmable Baud Rate up to 115 KBaud.
• - Optional CAN line based on PHILIPS SJA 1000 controller that supports Basic CAN, CAN 2.0B and PeliCan protocols, with a maximum 1 MBit/sec bit rate.
• - PHILIPS 82C250 CAN line driver, Galvanically Optocoupled or not.
• - 2 indipendent DMA channels completely software programmable.
• - 34 I/O TTL lines, managed via software (some lines have duplicate function).
• - Optional section with 8 lines of 12 bits A/D Converter, 0÷5, 0÷10, -5÷+5, -10÷+10 V sofware selectable input ranges or hardwar configurable for 0÷20 and 4÷20 mA.
• - Three 16 bits Timer Counter capable to generate pulse defined by software.
• - 2 status LEDs plus LED and BUZZER for software manages signals.
• - Real Time Clock capable to generate interrupt at software programmed intervals.
• - Back-Up circuitery for RAM and RTC through internal and external Lithium battery with charge status acquired by software.
• - Watch Dog resettable by software and power failure circuit that generates interrupt.
• - 26 pins connector for Abaco® I/O BUS.
• - 2 standard 20 pins Abaco® I/O connectors.
• - 1 standard 20 pins Abaco® A/D connector.
• - 9 pins standard male D connector for the CAN communication line.
• - Single +5 Vdc power supply, 270mA (26 MHz) or 390mA (40 MHz).
• - Optional built in power supply switching (.SW) or linear (.ALIM12) type, that accepts a wide range input voltage and can supply even external loads.
• - On board protection aganist voltage peaks by TransZorb™.
• - Wide range of base software and developement tools that allow card use with only a standard PC, connected through serial line. Among these: GDOS 188; PASCAL 188; Monitor Debugger; GCTR 884, ROM-DOS; HI TECH C 86; GET 188; FLASH WRITER, CMX-RTX; DDS MICROC 86; etc
