The ZBR 324 is a peripheral digital Input-Output module for interface ABACO® I/O BUS type. It is a BLOCK module suitable to be mounted on rails. In a very small surface the ZBR 324 I/O module offers to the user an extremely high number of I/O lines and two separate power supply sections. The first one provides a 5Vdc for the on board electronics, for the 24 output Relays and for possible additional external electronics (i.e: other peripheral cards or CPU section). The second section is galvanically insulated from the first one and it provides to power both the Optocoupled section formed by 32 inputs and additional peripheral external cards if any.
Typical application fields for ZBR 324 modules are all systems where a very large number of logics I/O is needed. These lines are ready to be used on the ZBR 324 and this latter can be easily mounted on the rails of any control panel. Quick release screw connectors allow very easy connection to wires coming from the field so only a 220Vac from main supply is needed. All I/O lines are equipped with LEDs showing the logic status and they are set in a row to their correspondent screw terminal where the line is available. This is very helpful during the installation or for solving problems during tests or debug phases. Also the power supply section is equipped with LEDs informing users about possible malfunction. In addition to I/O lines the ZBR 324 has other two Optocoupled and displayed lines which come directly from BUS lines for managing /INT and /NMI signals. There is also the possibility to re-read the data which are on the 24 logic outputs on 3 dedicated registers.
ZBR 324 is the best I/O expansion for CPU cards of ABACO® Single Europe size family. The connection is performed by a Motherboard for Omega rails ( i.e ABB 03 or ABB 05) at which a simple 26 flat-cable is connected. According to the number and type of cards connected to ABB 03 it is possible to have all the system directly powered by the ZBR 324 module.
Instead for BLOCK CPU cards provided of ABACO® I/O BUS expansion for example GPC® 15R, GPC® 113, GPC® 153, GPC® 183, GPC® 323, GPC® 553, GPC® 114, GPC® 154, GPC® 184, GPC® 324, GPC® 554, ect. , the connection is performed by a simple flat cable only.
