ALB - TELECONTROL

µP 25

Telecontrol Micro-Processor 25 I/O lines

Manual for H/S Telecontrol program on µP25

Ver.5.10 - Rel. 21 June 2001.

Basically the µP 25 is an intelligent I/O peripheral device, capable to comunicate with external systems through a physical serial line and a logical protocol named ALB (Abaco® Link Bus). Thanks to a serial line it is possible to drive the µP 25 I/O resources, by using the numerous macrocommands of the internal management firmware. These macrocommands can directly drive either the digital I/O lines, the Counter Lines, A/D and D/A converter, displays, etc. The µP 25 is commanded through simple ASCII strings received from the serial line. and it can be easily and immediately used together with each devices (P.C., PLC, CPU cards, etc.) able to manage the serial line following the ALB rules. The µP 25 is available in 44 pins PLCC package.

Evaluation Boards

If You want to evaluate and test the system's flexibility two dedicated cards have been developed. These cards simplify the knowledge of the product and of its commands set.

ALB E25

The ALB-E25 is a real evaluation board in fact it includes all the electronics necessary for µP 25 as: 25 keys and 25 LEDs that simulate the I/O conditions to test; an RS232 and RS 485 serial interface; two 20 pins I/O connectors with standard grifo® pin outs, for a fast interconnection with external systems. Thanks to these features the ALB E25 can be easily connected to many auxiliary boards that manages 12 bits A/D converter, 16 bits D/A converter, LED Displays or any other hardware developed by the user.

The Abaco® Link BUS protocol can manage a network of 128 devices, connected by an RS485 serial line. It is possible to develop large telecontrol systems with communication lines long up to 1200 m, in a really short time reducing the complete application cost.

The communication protocol is supported by any programmable devices provided of an RS232 or RS485 serial line as, for example, PLC, PC, GPC® xxx control card, etc. All the commands are at high level and they have a rich documentation and some examples.

ALB S25

The ALB S25 is an experimental board in fact it includes all the electronics necessary for µP 25, an RS232 and RS485 serial interface and a large prototyping area. On this area the user can mount the required circuit based on µP 25 core. Furthermore it is really economic and it can be used any time a strange telecontrol problem must be solved: the user can add only the specific hardware required by the unusual application.
