The KDI F32 and KDI L32 are interesting interface cards, with 100x140 mm size, that solve the user interface problems in the industrial environments in a cheap and efficient way.
The card is composed by four indipendent sections: on board matrix keyboard acquisition, Fluorescent or LCD display management, buzzer for sound feed back production and 8 LEDs management for visual indications. All these sections are driven by two simple 8 bits parallel ports, at TTL level.
In this way all the card provided of at least 16 TTL digital I/O lines can be connected to KDI F32 and KDI L32 cards and then they can exchange data and information to the user by sofware.
The hardware structure of KDI F32 and KDI L32 has been develped to satisfy two important features: simplify the software management and reduce the number of used lines on the control card.

The keyboard is composed by pratical and safe kyes with short motion, suitable for the use under plastic membrane cover. So, these type of cards are the right components to be mounted together with a proper metallic panel provided of holes for the keys and covered by a specific membrane; this last can be developed by the user according with the applications requirements and each keys will have its label. The card are provided of holes for a direct mounting in any racks, electric panels, containers, etc and for connection to the described front panels.

• Matrix keyboard with 32 keys.
• Industrial keys with short motion suitable for membrane keyboard cover.
• On board Buzzer with two different management tecnique: complete software drive (sound can be changed by user) or simple enable/disable sofware drive (single sound generation).
• Section for contrast voltage genaration for LCD display (only KDI L32).
• Section for fluorescent FUTABA display management, complete of compatible pin out connector (only KDI F32). The model types that can be interfaced are the following ones:
  • ALFANUMERIC models
  • M204SD01AA 20 columns x 4 rows
  • M202SD01BA 20 columns x 2 rows
  • M40SD04GJ 40 columns x 1 rows, etc.
• Section for LCD TOSHIBA display management, complete of compatible pin out connector (only KDI L32). The model types that can be interfaced are the following ones:
  • ALFANUMERIC and GRAPHIC models
  • TLX-711A 240 x 64 pixels; 40 columns x 8 rows
  • TLX-1021 120 x 64 pixels; 15 columns x 8 rows
  • TLX-1391 128 x 128 pixels; 16 columns x 16 rows
  • TLX-1013 160 x 128 pixels; 20 columns x 16 rows
  • TLX-1301 240 x 128 pixels; 40 columns x 16 rows, etc.
• Complete software management through 16 TTL digital I/O lines on standard 20 pins, I/O ABACO® connector.
• Single power supply voltage:
  +5 Vdc; 100 mA -> KDI F32;
  +5 Vdc; 140 mA -> KDI L32.
• Power supply can be provided by control card or by another external source, thnks to proper AMP connector.
