RPC A16 is an Eurocard
format, size 100x160 mm, output module that relies on ABACO®
Industrial BUS. The board features 16 output lines through
Opto Triac provided with zero Voltage turn on. The logic
status of each output is visualized through a LED.
Typical applications of the card are all the ones where small power logic AC outputs in number multiple of 16 are needed.
Another remarkable feature of RPC A16 is the possibility to read back the status of the 16 lines. This allows a greater safety because it is possible to get the real status of the lines.
The Opto Triac used can drive loads in alternate current up to a voltage equal to mains power supply. To be able to drive loads at a greater power it is possible to install externally a circuitery providing simple power Triac capable to bear the power that fits for the load. By means of the on board circuitery it is possible to get very easily and at a low cost a powerful solid state relays card.
The presence of a zero Voltage turn on circuitery warrants no noise emission, differently from the systems that do not use such circuitery. The board can be used only into those rack that are provided with the protections and signalations estabilished by law.
Should some loads be driven using mains power supply, it is opportune to remark that this will be present also in the front side of the board. The User will have to take maximum care in using the board and will have to assure that the final mounting is provided with the opportune mechanical protections to avoid that the board can be touched or get in touch with dangerous tensions. It is also needed to put the needed signalations of danger for the presence of mains power supply.
