LDA 08 card is a powerfull and low cost Single Euro card, provided with BUS Abaco® interface. This card belongs to the analog peripherals units and, in specific, its purpose is to provide eight Digital to Analog conversion lines that generateas many 4÷20 mA signals, with 16 bit of resolution. The output analog signals are available on comfortable screw terminal, quick release connectors, placed on the front side of the card, that simplify and speed connections.
The eight analog signals generation is managed by eight indipendent D/A Converter circuits and by eight different protection and filter circuits: this feature ensures a complete separation of the signals and increased noisy immunity. The LDA 420 modularity lets the user order the card with a variable number of analog outputs, obtaining an increased cost reduction accorded to requirements of the application to develop. So the card can be ordered in the following combinations: LDA 420, LDA 420/4, LDA 420/6 and LDA 420/8 with two, four, six and eight 4÷20 mA outputs respectively.
Indipendently from chosen configuration, the card is always provided of one power supply input for analog section, still connected to a screw terminal connector. The choice to use an external power supply voltage for the analog section avoids each power dissipation problems and allows the user to select the supply voltage of the current loop controlled by the card; this extends its possible application fields.
There are other really interesting features of LDA 420 as the galvanic separation between analog section and control logic section, that allows card use inside electric noisy industrial environments, and the presence of a local CPU that simplify and speed up the software management. The card functionalities are defined by the Firmware executed by this CPU and they can be easily increased even according with customer requirements. For example it can be provided the autonomous generation of ramps, of analog profiles predefined, repeated settings, proportional settings, etc.
LDA 420 card can be parallel driven through any GPC® xxx board connected to Abaco® BUS, and takes as low as 2 contiguous bytes in the addressing space, or serial driven by any system provided of a programmable asyncronous line.
