LDA 08 card is a powerfull
and low cost Single Euro format card, provided with BUS
Abaco® interface.
This card belongs to the analog peripherals units and, in specific, its purpose is to provide eight Digital to Analog conversion lines with 8 bits of resolution.
The output analog signals are available on a comfortable low profile connector, placed on the front side of the card, that simplify connections.
The eight analog signals generation is managed by two indipendent D/A Converter circuits and by eight different amplification circuits: this feature ensures a complete separation of the signals and increased noisy immunity.
Analog circuitry is capable to generate the signals amongst a wide range of possible choices in fact the output signals range can be selected amongst four different values:
through some jumpers and components configuration, indipendently
for each channel. The feature to generate a percentual of an external
signal adds interesting use of LDA 08 as, for example,
programmable Multiplier/Divider of up to 8 analog
signals. The connection of these external signals is performed
through a second low profile connector, always placed on the front
side.
The rich series of FBC xxx modules allows a direct and
fast installation of the card in fact the field signals can be
simply connected with screw terminal connectors and no special
interfacement cables are required.
A DC/DC converter is charged to generate all the voltages
essential for the correct working from the unique power supply
of +5 Vdc.
LDA 08 card can be driven through any GPC® xxx
board in the Abaco® listing, and takes as low as 16
contiguous bytes in the addressing space.
Overall features of LDA 08 are as follows:
- Single Europe format size with 100x160 mm dimension
- Direct interface to Abaco® Industrial BUS
- 8 separated lines of D/A Converter with 8 Bits resolution
- 2 D/A converter section based on DAC 8408 component
- 8 different amplification circuits
- Each output voltage selectable amongst: ±5 V; ±10 V; 0÷+10 V; 0÷100% external signal according with ordered configuration
- Multiplier and/or Divisor functionality of external input analog signals
- 20 pins low profile connector for the 8 outputs analog signals
- 10 pins low profile connector for the possible 8 external inputs analog signals
- Visualization, through LEDs, of the D/A sections accesses
- Trimmers for offset regulation of each amplification sections
- 4 ways Dip Switch to set the allocation address of the card
- Used addressing space: 16 bytes
- Nornal addressing range of 256 bytes
- Local DC/DC converter that generates the required voltages
- Single power supply +5 Vdc
- Supplied with demo programs that simplify and speed the card use with each programmable external systems
