AAS 12

Analog Acquisition System, A/D 12 Bit

The board AAS 12 is a storage type A/D Converter structure, in format standard Single Eurocard 100x160 mm. It works directly with Abaco® Industrial BUS so it can be controlled through one of the several CPU or GPC® cards designed to work on this BUS.

AAS 12 can be considered in every respect a Digital Oscilloscope Storage type with a buffer capable to keep 64 K conversions and a vertical resolution of 12 bit. Its programmability of functions such speed, number of conversions and trigger source make it a sophisticated research instrument to freeze even very fast analog events .

Both reading and programming are performed through BUS. The AAS 12 board can capture very fast events, even using very comfortable but very slow languages, like BASIC interpreters, without any need to write specific machine language procedures.

In addition, the board is provided with it own local memory capable to store the conversions results, without subtracting memory to the CPU memory or diverting it from its activities.

The board is provided with a trigger circuitery that allows to syncronize the conversion with external signals or with internal signals generated by the board itself .

It is also remarkable the possibility to syncronize several AAS 12, one of which becomes the master unit while the other ones become the slave units.
