 CAN232 is a very small dongle that plugs into any PC COM Port, or any other RS232 port in an embedded system and gives an instant CAN connectivity. This means it can be treated by software as a standard COM Port (serial port) which eliminates the need for any extra drivers. Send and receive can be done in standard ASCII format.

Which are the CAN MiniModules products and what are their features?

CAN MiniModule is a family of small embedded microcontroller boards in DIP format, provided of CAN line (Controller Area Network). Thanks to these modules the users can rapidly obtain new products as: digital I/O connected to CAN line, intelligent node that controls a motor through PID, acquisition systems for analog sensors located on the field, etc. In other words the CAN MiniModules are "System on Chip" provided of CAN connection.

Actually CAN MiniModules counts 3 products, based on Atmel T89C51CC01, T89C51CC02 at the other based on Atmel T89C51CC03. Both these microcontrollers uses FLASH technology and they are programmable directly on the board, through In System Programming (ISP) modality.

The CAN MiniModules products includes even an RS 232 transceiver and a RESET circuit that manage reset signal during power on and stop the microcontroller if power supply is under a security level. Moreover they are provided of CAN transceiver, compliant to ISO-11898 standard.
