The ZBR 84 is a peripheral Input-Output module for ABACO® I/O BUS interface. It is under BLOCK format to be mounted on rails. In a very small surface, ZBR 84 offers a very high number of Input- Output lines and two separate power supply sections. The first section provides +5 Vdc for the on board electronics, for the 4 output Relays and for possible additional external electronics (i.e: other peripheral cards or CPU section)5. The second section is insulated from the first one and it provides the tension for the optocoupled section formed by 8 inputs and for other external cards. Typical applications of the ZBR 84 are those of a small numbers of logical I/O able to be inrterfaced to the field, is needed. These resources are ready to be used on the ZBR 84 and this card can also host into its housing the CPU cards 3 Type or 4 Type too. In this way a unique device is obtained and it can be directly mounted on rails of electromechanical control panel and wires can be directly connected to quick release screw terminal connectors, only 220Vac from mains is required. I/O lines are always equipped with LEDs that show the status line; these LEDs are set in a row to their correspondent line screw terminals, just to simplify the installation and for solving problems during hardware test and software debug phases. Also power supply sections have diagnostic LEDs to inform user about possible malfunctions. In addition to I/O logical lines, ZBR 84 has also two optocoupled and displayed lines directly connected to the BUS lines for managing the /INT and /NMI signals. There is also the possibility to re-read the data acquired by the 4 logical outputs, on a dedicated register. In addition to the lines galvanically coupled, 4 auxiliary ouputs, not galvanically coupled, are available. These latter, which have a driving capability of 500mA, can be used to directly drive relays or samll loads. The ZBR 84 is the simplest I/O expansion for CPU cards, of ABACO® family, in single Euro size. The connection is performed by ABB 03 or ABB 05 (that is a mother board for rails) and by a simple 26 wires flat cable. According to number and type of cards connected to ABB 03, the complete obtained system can be powered by ZBR 84. In addition to that the ZBR 84 is the natural I/O expansion for CPU cards of ABACO® family in single Europe size. The connection is perfomerd by the Motherboard for DIN rails type ABB03 or ABB05 at which ZBR 84 is linked through a 26 pins Flat Cable. According to number of cards connected to ABB 03 the obtained system can be powered by ZBR 84.

In addition to that ZBR 84 is the natural I/O completion of all CPU cards , BLOCK size, equipped with the ABACO® I/O BUS expansion connector such as GPC® 15R, GPC® 113, GPC® 153, GPC® 183, GPC® 323, GPC® 553, GPC® 114, GPC® 154, GPC® 184, GPC® 324, GPC® 554, and so on.
